They’ve killed at least 9 dolphins, 15 seals, 11 albatross, 23 sharks, and caught a whale shark

The monster trawler Geelong Star has been destroying our local baitfish and protected species for almost a year now. It’s heart breaking and infuriating for people who love our oceans and want to make sure there’s fish for the future.

But in breaking news: NSW Primary Industries Minister, Niall Blair, has just come out demanding the Australian Government reviews its super trawler approval.

Well as you know we have our Australian charity status and now Pay Pal has accepted us as a charity. With these two recognitions we can now accept donations. Our first mission is to study the shark nets up and down the eastern seaboard of Australia. Every year countless marine life is lost to these nets. It is a controversial issue but we intend to prepare a report to the government and local authorities as to there use and alternatives.

Heartless Capture of White Whales!

Why are we concerned about the heartless capture of white whales?

In June this year, Georgia Aquarium applied for a permit to import 18 white whales or belugas from Russia.

The application for a permit requests authorisation to import 18 beluga whales from the Utrish Marine Mammal Research Station in Russia, to the United States for the entertainment industry.

According to the permit application, the belugas were previously captured from the Russian Sea of Okhotsk by Utrishskiy delphinarium. ‘Utrish’, as it is commonly called, is a facility that supplies wild marine mammals to facilities around the world, and it has… Continue reading
